INDIANAPOLIS — Police have made an arrest in a road-rage shooting on the northeast side.

On Thursday, IMPD announced Cam’ron Smith, 18, was arrested for his involvement in the shooting.

The shooting happened last Friday, July 9, at around 5:30 p.m. on 4200 North Arlington Avenue. That’s just north of East 42nd Street.

According to IMPD, a woman thought she was being followed too closely by another car, and slammed on her breaks. Then, somebody got out of the car behind her, and shot her.

The woman was able to drive half a mile up the road, to 46th Street and Arlington Avenue, where she called 911.

When police got to her, she had at least one gunshot wound, and was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

On Monday, July 12, IMPD released photos of the suspects, who were believed to be driving a red Honda Fit, leading to Smith’s arrest. According to IMPD, the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will determine what charges should be filed against Smith.
