GARY, Ind. — A winning Powerball ticket worth $50,000 that was sold in northwestern Indiana will expire July 8.

A ticket for the Jan. 9 Powerball drawing was purchased at the Speedway station at 3201 Grant Street in Gary.

It matched four of the white balls and the red Powerball.

The winning numbers for the Jan. 9 drawing were 14, 26, 38, 45, and 46 and the Powerball was 13.

Hoosier Lottery rules require all draw game prizes to be claimed within 180 days of the drawing. Otherwise, the prize is forfeited and the prize money remains in the lottery’s prize fund to pay for future Hoosier Lottery jackpots.

The person with the winning ticket should sign and complete the information on the back of the ticket and then put it in a safe location.

To claim the prize, the winner must call 1-800-955-6886 to schedule an appointment before bringing it to Hoosier Lottery headquarters in Indianapolis.
