CAMDEN, Tenn. — Sex crimes involving children are what have a youth minister in Evansville in trouble.

Joshua Henley was booked into the Benton County Jail in Camden, Tennessee on Tuesday. Henley used to be a youth pastor in Tennessee where he was also a volunteer girls basketball coach. He’s now a youth pastor at a church in Evansville.

Investigators say he’s accused of sex crimes involving “multiple victims in multiple states” ranging from 12-to-16 years old.

A Facebook post from Matthew Stowe, the district attorney for five Tennessee counties in the 24th Judicial District, did not say when the sex crimes happened but noted sex crimes involving children have increased during the coronavirus pandemic, which began in March 2020.

Henley is charged with statutory rape and sexual battery. Now the FBI is involved as investigators say there could be more victims.
