During an interview with NBC News Tuesday, Vice President Kamala Harris laughed and offered a pompous reply when asked why she hasn’t paid a visit to the U.S.-Mexico border.

“I – at some point – you know – we are going to the border. We’ve been to the border,” Harris nervously stammered. “So this whole – this whole – this whole thing about the border. We’ve been to the border. We’ve been to the border.”

NBC’s Lester Holt continued to press, reminding the vice president that she, herself, has not been to the border while in office.

“I – and I haven’t been to Europe. And I mean, I don’t – I don’t understand the point that you’re making,” Harris said.

Editor’s Note: We can help you with that, Madame Vice President. When a crisis occurs, it is considered customary for the person in charge of handling said crisis to visit the actual site of said crisis. Otherwise, it appears as though the person in charge of handling said crisis is actively engaged in a coverup.

“Listen, I care about what’s happening at the border,” Harris lied, noting that she is “in Guatemala because my focus is dealing with the root causes of migration.”

And what does Harris believe to be the primary “root cause” of migration? Climate change.

Fun Fact: The Biden administration has rolled back a number of Trump-era policies which kept migrants out of the U.S. This rollback included the Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP) – which kept migrants in Mexico as they awaited their hearings.
