CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. — Mattress maker Tempur Sealy International is choosing Montgomery County as the home of its new manufacturing facility.

Tempur Sealy will spend nearly $140 million on a new production facility in Crawfordsville.  The new plant will manufacture a wide variety of bedding products and components. Construction is expected to begin this fall and wrap up by 2023.

Tempur Sealy plans to create approximately 300 new jobs by the end of 2025.

“After a thorough site search and evaluation process, we have identified Crawfordsville, Indiana, as the ideal location for our new operations,” said Tempur Sealy Chairman and CEO Scott Thompson. “We selected this location based on the robust business climate fostered by the state and local government, the quality of life the city of Crawfordsville provides its citizens, and the property’s access to major transportation routes.”

The company will begin hiring in Crawfordsville for management, supervisory, administrative, and staff beginning later this year through 2023. Interested applicants can apply online.

Tempur Sealy develops, makes, and markets mattresses, adjustable bases, pillows, and other sleep and relaxation products for brands including Tempur®, Tempur-Pedic®, Sealy®, and Stearns & Foster®.

Pending approval, the Indiana Economic Development Corporation will offer Tempur Production USA LLC various tax credits. These tax credits are performance-based, meaning the company is eligible to claim incentives once Hoosiers are hired and investments are made.
