CAMBRIDGE, Mass. —  Moderna is asking the FDA to fully approve its two-shot COVID-19 vaccine.
It’s the second drugmaker to apply, which would allow the company to market its vaccine directly to consumers.
Both Moderna’s and Pfizer’s vaccines are currently being used under an emergency use authorization.
To be fully authorized, the FDA requires at least six months of data. It usually takes the FDA months before it grants approval.
