GREENWOOD, Ind. — The Greenwood Police Department is warning the public about a series of false soliciting calls.
The caller is spoofing the Greenwood Police Department’s main telephone number, so that it appears to be legitimate on the victim’s caller ID. The caller has identified themselves multiple times as an officer with GPD named “Officer Griffith.”
The Greenwood Police Department does not solicit by telephone ever. Anyone who receives this call is asked to hang up immediately and report it to the police.
