ANDERSON, Ind. — A woman was killed in a shooting in Anderson on Sunday.
Anderson police officers responded at around 1:00 p.m. Sunday to a home along Walton Street where witnesses said they heard gunshots. Officers got there and found a woman who had been shot. She was taken to a hospital in Indianapolis, where she later died, Officer Caleb McKnight said.
McKnight added that they have a suspect in custody.
Neither the identity of the woman who died or the suspect in custody was immediately released. No details about what led up to the shooting were available.
