RICHMOND, Ind. — A man killed in a plane crash in eastern Indiana on Sunday.
Indiana State Police say Judson Costlow, 78, of Richmond had taken off early Sunday morning from Richmond Municipal Airport. Troopers say he crashed in a field just south of the airport. He and his Aerotrek A240 plane were headed for Arizona.
“Early investigation revealed Costlow was flying to Arizona to visit family,” said Sgt. Coley McCutcheon. “He was flying alone at the time of the crash. There were no other injuries resulting from the crash.”
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has taken over the investigation and McCutcheon says State Police will continue to assist as needed.
It’s now up to the FAA to figure out why the plane went down.
