TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — A man was arrested Saturday after an “improvised explosive” was found outside the Terre Haute Police Department.

Early Saturday morning, a fire was reported on the west side of the police department. Once the fire was put out, investigators found that the device was a gas container converted into an explosive with “an accelerant and projectiles.”

No one was hurt, but the department worked with the FBI in its investigation. Using surveillance video footage, they were able to identify the man as Curtis Hogan.

Hogan was found and arrested just a few hours later. He’s charged with with possession of a destructive device and attempted arson.
