Minutes after ex-officer Derek Chauvin was found guilty on all three murder charges against George Floyd, Speaker Nancy Pelosi wasted no time embarrassing herself.

Following the verdict Pelosi (brace yourself…)  thanked George Floyd for his sacrifice at a press conference hosted by the Congressional Black Caucus. No, really, she thanked him.

“Thank you George Floyd, for sacrificing your life for justice. For being there to call out to your mom, how heartbreaking was that, call out for you mom, ‘I can’t breathe. But because of you and because of thousands, millions of people around the world who came out for justice, your name will always be synonymous with justice.”

Not sure if you need a moment to pick your jaw up off the floor or time to give the world’s biggest eye-roll. Some people are surprised, while others shocked, but we all can agree that was not only inappropriate it was just flat out weird.

Many on social media called out the Speaker of the House for her ignorant comments pointing out that Floyd did not die willingly for racial justice.

Tony Katz says this bizarre statement should be called out by everyone, especially her own party.

“If Democrats in Indiana don’t say ‘hey Speaker Pelosi this is too much’ then don’t ever come to us as Hoosiers discussing morality and decency.”

Pelosi later tried to back pedal on twitter.
