INDIANAPOLIS — An Indianapolis woman has pleaded guilty to criminal recklessness for driving her minivan into several people who were protesting on Monument Circle last June.

As part of a plea agreement, 69-year-old Diane Goebel must pay more than $2,600 in restitution to two people who were hurt. She must also pay $185 in court costs. Goebel was also ordered to perform 48 hours of community service and serve 361 days on probation.

Goebel entered a guilty plea on Tuesday.

On June 8, 2020, Goebel drove her minivan into people protesting on Monument Circle over the deaths of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor and the Indianapolis police shooting deaths of Dreasjon Reed and McHale Rose.
