You may want to sit down for this. The headline is not ‘click bait.’ Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez got a few things right.
SOUND THE ALARM
The first thing Tony Katz fully agrees with AOC on (never thought we’d say that) is her joint statement calling for Cuomo’s resignation.
Many on the left are calling out Gov. Cuomo for his sexual assault charges. AOC makes a point to also shine light on another issue, which Democrats are leaving in the dark. The New York Representative reminds people that the governor’s administration flat out lied about COVID nursing home numbers. Instead of waiting for ‘strike three,’ we can agree Cuomo needs to resign.
Secondly, AOC spoke for the freedom of Tibetans. In the words of Tony Katz “you’re out of your head” if you can’t agree on this one.
This past week was the 61st anniversary of the Tibetan National Uprising Day, which commemorates resistance to occupation by Chinese government forces in Tibet.
AOC was seen Tuesday calling out China’s abuse. “For Decades, the Tibetan people have bravely fought for their freedom. It is the responsibility of all those of us who value freedom of speech and expression to stand with them against China’s gross human rights abuses.”
Again, THAT is something we can all agree on.
So we start your week off with a bit of positivity, dare we say unity, even if it’s in obvious small ways.
