INDIANAPOLIS–The season ended for the Indiana Hoosier men’s basketball team Thursday night in the Big Ten Tournament with a 61-50 loss to Rutgers at Lucas Oil Stadium.

The Hoosiers did not make a field goal for the final 9:50. IU finishes the season on a 6-game losing streak with a record of 12-15.

Unhappy with the job head coach Archie Miller has done this year, IU fans chanted “Fire Archie!” late in the game when it was clear that IU would come up short.

“I didn’t hear the fans say anything. If they were chanting my name, that’s up to them. During the game, you don’t pay attention to that,” said Miller in a postgame Zoom call. “I’m not entering any off-season wondering if I’m going to be back. Those decisions are made way higher than me.”

Miller also addressed the offensive struggles his team had Thursday night and throughout the season.

“We have to get more consistent offensive firepower. A lot of that has to do with being able to get more offensive weapons on the floor with shooting and do some things there. No one is more disappointed than our team, our players, and our coaches,” said Miller.

Indiana sophomore forward Trayce Jackson-Davis was named first-team All-Big Ten on Tuesday afternoon by the league’s media and second-team by the coaches. Jackson-Davis scored 19 points against Rutgers. Many NBA draft experts believe Jackson-Davis could declare for the NBA Draft soon, but that doesn’t appear to be at the forefront of his mind right now.

“Right now, I’m not even going to worry about that. I’ll probably take a few weeks off and try to get my mind right. I’m going to make the best decision for me,” said Jackson-Davis Thursday night.

Jackson-Davis played high school basketball at Center Grove High School in Greenwood, Indiana. He was Indiana Mr. Basketball in 2019. He was also the Indiana Gatorade Player of the Year in 2019.
