INDIANAPOLIS–A boy was injured while hiking in Indianapolis and the Indianapolis Fire Department (IFD) came to his rescue.
IFD says he slipped and fell near a creek about 600 yards from a hiking trail entry point off of 63rd and Meridian streets.
The 13-year-old boy was hiking with his mother when the accident happened just before 6 pm Sunday. After he slipped and fell, he was unable to walk on his own. Firefighters took him out on a stretcher.
He was taken to Riley Hospital for Children in stable condition.
No one else was hurt.
