HAMMOND, Ind. — A former Valparaiso teacher is headed to federal prison after pleading guilty to receiving child pornography.
Brian Kunze, 32, was sentenced to 12 years in prison, followed by 10 years of probation. He was also ordered to pay $30,000 ($10,000 each) to three victims. He must also register as a sex offender.
Kunze, a former teacher at Wheeler High School in Valparaiso, used his position of authority to get one of his female students to send him explicit photos. Court papers say police also found sexually explicit images of other female students on electronic devices at Kunze’s home. Kunze admitted to receiving and possessing over 150 images of minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct.
