BARTHOLOMEW CO., Ind. — Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating what they believe to be a fatal hunting accident.
On Sunday, at around 8:57 in the morning, officers received a call about an unresponsive hunter. He was found by a family member near 9200 South State Road 58, in Columbus, after he never came home from a hunting trip.
When officers arrived, they found John Walker, 54, with a gunshot wound. After an initial investigation, officers believe Walker’s gun was accidentally discharged.
Walker died at the scene. An autopsy is being scheduled to determine his exact cause of death.
The investigation is ongoing.
