CBS News aired an audio clip Tuesday night in which a computer-generated voice warns New York air traffic controllers of an impending terror attack on the U.S. Capitol building.
“We are flying a plane into the Capitol on Wednesday,” the voice says in the clip. “Soleimani will be avenged.”
Soleimani was killed last year in a U.S. drone strike ordered by President Trump. The threat was issued on the one-year anniversary of Soleimani’s death.
CBS News said experts do not believe the threat was credible; however, the breach “could affect the instructions pilots get about how and where planes fly.”
The incident is being investigated as a breach of aviation frequencies.
