INDIANAPOLIS–A man from Seymour has a chance to win $1 million, courtesy of the Hoosier Lottery.

Steven Everage, 46, is one of five finalists who could become the “Powerball First Millionaire of the Year.” As a finalist, Everage is already getting “The Party@Home New Year’s Eve Party Package”, which is valued at $20,000. He’s receiving a $12,500 cash prize, deluxe surf and turf dinner from Omaha Steaks, and a 70″ LED TV including a home theater sound system.

“I was at home eating supper when I found out I was a finalist. I was very happy to hear about it!” said Everage. “I’m excited by the chance of winning and it’s a great chance to possibly become debt-free.”

Everage said both he and his wife have lived in Seymour for over 20 years. They have been married for 25 years. He works in a factory and manufactures auto parts.

“If I win, I plan on paying my house off. Whatever is left, I plan on investing, so I can retire early,” said Everage. “I like playing POWERBALL and Scratch-offs for the chance to win life-changing amounts of money. I play every Saturday.”

The five finalists in the national promotion were selected by the Multi-State Lottery Association (MUSL) and Dick Clark Productions from the pool of semi-finalists submitted by participating lotteries across the country. The five finalists are from Indiana, Washington D.C., Florida, Pennsylvania, and Nebraska.

You can watch ABC’s live broadcast of “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2021 December 31. They will reveal the millionaire winner just after midnight January 1, 2021.

The Hoosier Lottery awarded 30 semi-finalists $500 and a chance to become one of the five finalists across participating lotteries. To participate, Hoosier Lottery players entered their non-winning POWERBALL tickets into the myLOTTERY 2nd Chance promotion between August 23 through September 14, resulting in over 33,000 Hoosier Lottery entries into the promotion. Everage won that 2nd Chance Promotion.
