How To Furnish the Outdoors

Summer is the time to wiggle your toes in the grass and count the stars at night. It is also time for relatives to visit, neighbors to emerge and the grills of summer to fire up in a collective whoosh.

Move Outdoors!
With the proper furnishings, you can outfit your outdoors to be as comfortable as your indoors. You will need front row seating for events like spotting the Big Dipper and watching lightening bugs. Adirondack Chairs provide a classic camp style for your yard. Pull up an ottoman and spend the entire evening pondering the universe. Add an end table and you have everything you need to soak up the healing essence of the outdoors. Of course, no garden is complete without a bench. It is the perfect setting for a garden rest area.

Hang Around and Look Up:
Unleash your creative spirit and lay back in a hammock, watching the clouds float by. Just you, a cloud-filled sky and your unleashed imagination. No trees to hang from? No problem. Simply, string your hammock on a stand.

Host a Summer Party:
Summertime is the official season for get-togethers: Family reunions, graduations, block parties and garden parties. Make outdoor entertaining as easy as it should be. Fill a large glass conservatory with pitches of cool drinks, plates of goodies or pillars of candles to offer some sparkle at your next evening party. The glass cover keeps insects and household pets away. Need a floral boost around your patio? Create instant container gardens. Just drop hanging basket-sized plants into tall basket weave pots.

Pots are also ideal for growing a variety of flowers in, and they are available in so many shapes and sizes, it makes decorating the outdoors fun. Sink a couple herb plants into oval planters with grape leaves and set them in the center of the table so your guests can season their own food with fresh herbs.

Don't Let the Sun Go Down:
Summer evenings are filled with natural sparkle - take the moon and stars. But you can add your own light with various hanging candle lanterns, simple candles or tiki torches spread throughout the yard. Add a couple of citronella candles and you also fend off bothersome mosquitoes.

Don't Forget the Essentials:
Depending on how much you want to spend, stores offer a great variety of summertime plates and utensils. Choose from floral and garden designs to wildlife dancing across your plates. Make sure your summer grill is fired up and ready for all the BBQ fun. Whether you have a gas or charcoal grill, it is important to have parts working correctly and to have a clean cooking surface every time you use it.

Relax, Relax, Relax:
Just remember the summer months are meant to be enjoyed and cherished. Relax and enjoy the company in whatever setting you may choose!
