Sure…you can enjoy Indy, Fort Wayne, South Bend and Evansville. Many people would consider spending the day in the bigger cities for a fun time. However, Indiana is littered with smaller, quaint towns that also have a lot to offer. One Indiana city was recently named as the most underrated in the state.
What Is The Most Underrated City In Indiana?
According to a recent article by Love Exploring, the most underrated city in the state is Nashville. Nashville, Indiana.
Nashville is a town in Washington Township, Brown County. The town is the county seat of Brown County and is the county’s only incorporated town. The township is best known as the center of the Brown County Art Colony and as a tourist destination. Nearby Brown County State Park has forests and trails.
Nashville is a great place to visit during leaf peeping season as Brown County is nicknamed the “little smokies” due to is similarity to the Great Smoky Mountains with its 16,000 acres of rolling hills, ridges, and valleys. Lake Monroe, Indiana’s largest lake, is nearby too.
But, Nashville is a pleasurable spot to call on year round. The town offers delicious food, numerous shops and plenty of art and music! The experienced shopper can find original watercolor paintings, sculptures, toys from yesterday, stained glass art, solid wood furniture, wood carvings, metal sculptures, pewter, handblown glass, custom jewelry, interesting clothing, wind chimes and custom bird lodging.
