Joe Wambach


Joe Wambach is a radio news veteran who has been a news anchor and reporter at WIBC since 1995. As Afternoon News Editor, Joe anchors and co-anchors afternoon and evening newscasts at WIBC.

Joe came to WIBC from Pennsylvania. During his career, he has worked in radio newsrooms in Philadelphia and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and in Oklahoma City, Okla. It was while in Harrisburg that Joe and the rest of the news team at WKBO were the first in the nation to report on the problems at the Three Mile Island nuclear power plant.

That wasn't Joe's only experience in breaking a national story. In 1986, he was the first reporter on the air with news of the Edmond (Oklahoma) Post Office massacre in which 15 people died.

Joe has received awards from organizations such as the Associated Press and the Society of Professional Journalists and continues to work in the field as well as the newsroom.
